Pyro and Klepto is a live-action AFI thesis film. I was asked to come up with a fun, edgy way to showcase the end credits. This involved a variety of techniques, including a ton of track mattes with footage of explosions and fire to create the reveal effects.
I also attempted to get a very organic look out of the still images in the sequence by filming my computer screen with the images up. Using a technique called
lens whacking I captured what I like to think are visuals that move a little more than if I were to apply filters and expressions.
Hope you dig.
